Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia informed the Czech business community that trade and investment are welcomed in Ghana.
This comes after a two-day visit by a delegation of Czech businesses led by Prime Minister Peter Fiala of the Czech Republic.
Dr. Bawumia gave Prime Minister Fiala assurances that Ghana is “the place to be for investment” during their conversation about enhancing bilateral cooperation between Ghana and the Czech Republic in a number of areas.
“Ghana is the most peaceful country in West Africa and the second most peaceful country in Africa. Ghana is the right place to be for investment,” Dr. Bawumia said.
“I am certain that this will provide an opportunity for the two sides to network and explore the possibilities of business partnership and joint ventures,” Dr. Bawumia added.
“I take this opportunity to urge Czech businesses to take advantage of the immense business opportunities offered by the African Continent Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in the area of food and agriculture, energy, health, education, and infrastructural development, among others.”
Prime Minister Fiala, for his part, expressed gratitude to Ghana for preserving national peace and stability and reiterated his nation’s ongoing collaboration in a number of areas, most notably the economy and health.
The first prime minister from the Czech Republic to visit Ghana is Prime Minister Fiala.
