Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC reached the CAF Champions League group stage on their debut in the competition.
The Mauves and Yellow lads eliminated Guinean side AC Horoya 4-3 on aggregate to make it through to the group stage.
The last time a Ghanaian side qualified to the money zone of the competition was in 2012/13 when Berekum Chelsea represented Ghana.
Jonathan Sowah gave Medeama SC an early lead in the 24th minute through a spot kick but Mandela Ocansey cancelled the lead with a fine finish two minutes later.
Horoya added the second goal in the 76th minute to make it 2-1 for the hosts but that did not deter the Ghanaian side as they kept their discipline and held on until the blast of the final whistle. They had already won the first leg by 3-1.
