Tarkwa based Medeama SC are champions of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League thanks to a final day 3-0 victory over relegated Tamale City at Akoon Park on Sunday.
The Mauves and Yellow side prior to the matchday 34 action needed to avoid defeat to clinch their first ever GPL Title in front of home fans, and without a doubt they mauled Tamale City in grand style to emerge as league winners after the Matchday 34 matches.
A first-half goal from Joshua Agyemang and two others in the second half by Jonathan Sowah were enough to make Medeama the new champions of Ghana.
Tamale City on the other hand, are back to Division one together with Kotoku Royals and King Faisal.
Medeama SC thus, becomes the 10th different club to win the Ghana Premier League following Sunday’s victory.
They will represent Ghana in next year’s TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
