The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yammin has taken a swipe at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia describing him as a laughable character who is out of touch with the economic conditions and general suffering in the country.
He intimated that it is shocking Dr. Bawumia often finds the laxity to describe Ghana as if it is a yet-to-be-discovered paradise.
Speaking on Face to Face on Citi TV, Mr. Yammin said “Sometimes, I listen to the vice president and I get shocked as to whether he really lives in this country”.
He further narrated an incident where he “passed through a friend’s house, and we were having a chat and I heard people in the living room laughing, and I got curious and went to have a look at what they were laughing at only to realise it was Mahamudu Bawumia speaking on TV because whatever he was saying was out of the ordinary.”
Mr. Yammin also lambasted the government for the poorly run Free SHS policy which he said has rather worsened the economic well-being of Ghanaians.
“I took my daughter to school, and she has not been taught for two weeks, yet they are on vacation now, and they will be going back to school in three months’ time and this is what Bawumia prides himself in. I spent GH¢7,000 on the prospectus alone, and they call this free SHS. We’ve been told parents are not to pay for PTA, but we were made to pay before our children could be enrolled.
“When I listen to Bawumia and these people saying that they are going to win the 2024 elections because they have done enough for Ghanaians, I always laugh.”
