Reigning champions Accra Hearts of Oak have been dumped out of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup championship in the round of 32 played on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The record holders were ousted by a lone goal by ‘ Still Believe’ lads of Dreams FC in the 10th minute.
Agyenim Boateng Mensah capitalized on a howler from Richmond Ayi.
The Phobians had a chance to equalize in the dying minutes of the game after they were awarded a penalty but veteran defender Samuel Inkoom and Benjamin Yorke missed from the spot in a dramatic fashion as the Rainbow lads took the penalty kick twice after replays showed that the Dreams FC goalkeeper had come off his lines to save Benjamin Yorke’s initial kick.
Meanwhile, Hearts archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko survived a scare following a 2-1 victory over third tier side Benab FC 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Saturday to stay in contention for the FA Cup Title.
