Disappointed Black Galaxies Coach Annor Walker has attributed his lads opening game 2-1 defeat to Madagascar to poor first half display from his side.

According to the Gaffer, his players’ own errors cost them points against the Southern Africans despite being on top for most periods of the game.

The two-time CHAN finalists opened their campaign with a disappointing defeat to Madagascar on Sunday night.

Speaking after the game, Coach Walker believes his outfit will rectify the mistakes moving forward.

“I think my boys disappointed me in the first half and I take it as one of those things that happen in football. We were well prepared for this game, but minor mistakes cost us the game,” said a dejected Walker.

“Such things happen in football. It happens in competitions that big teams lose their opening games. We may have lost but we are certainly not out of the competition yet.

The Black Galaxies will take on Sudan in a must-win match in the second group C game on Thursday, to remain in contention for a knock-out place.
