Debutants Madagascar stunned Ghana’s Black Galaxies 2-1 in their first ever game at the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament on Sunday night at the Algerian city of Constantine.
Goals from Koloina Razafindranaivo in the 11th minute and a 62nd minute strike from Olivier Randriantsiferana ensured a deserved win and three points for the Southern Africans in fine fashion.
Ghana pulled one back through substitute Augustine Agyapong.
Coach Annor Walker’s lads will face Sudan next in a must win contest in the second group C game on Thursday to book a place in the next round of the tournament.
