Kotoko

Defending Champions Asante Kotoko shared spoils with Legon Cities in Match-week 7 of the 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League action at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The mid-week action ended 1-1 on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors came into the game with a rich vein of form having won their two previous games against Samartex FC and Medeama SC and looked poised to continue their winning run.

Kotoko scored in the first half through Steven Mukwala’s 13th-minute penalty after he was brought down in the box.

The Royals equalized in the 49th minute through Mohammed Sadat.

The host piled pressure on Cities in the remaining minutes of the exchanges but the visitors defended gallantly to snatch a point in Kumasi.

Kotoko now are 3rd with 14 points after seven games.

Coach Maxwell Konadu’s lads currently occupy 6th on the league log with 11 points.
