Black Galaxies Coach Annor Walker remains confident that his side will qualify for the 2023 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship.

Ghana brushed aside their West African archrivals Nigeria 2-0 in leg 1 and final round of qualifiers for the 2023 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship at the Cape Coast Stadium last week.

Goals from big game gem Afriyie Barnieh and Seidu Suraj in the second half enabled the lads to take 1st leg advantage.

Speaking ahead of the tie, the gaffer expressed confidence in his team and said they are willing to put up a fight against the Super Eagles on Saturday.

“As a team we’ve discussed the game and mapped up a strategy for Saturday’s game. We don’t feel we have any advantage over them and winning Saturday’s match will is more important to us than the one we played in Cape Coast”, Coach Annor Walker told Gfa.org.

On the injury situation in camp, the Black Galaxies coach mentioned that two players could not make the trip due to injuries they suffered prior to the trip.

“ We had to leave Vincent Atingah and Ampadu in Ghana because of injuries. Atingah suffered a knock in the training match against King Faisal while Ampadu was left out due to a groin injury”.

He however assured Ghanaians that his charges are poised for the game and are determined to end Ghana’s absence from the CHAN competition.

“We are here to win and that it the mentality we have. Am assuring Ghanaians that we will emerge victorious at the end of the day”, he added.

The game will be played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja next Saturday, with the aggregate winner in both legs of the second round of matches, qualifying for the 2023 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship, which will run from Sunday January 8, 2023, to Tuesday January 31, 2023.
