Black Princesses

Black Princesses technical advisor Nora Hauptle is confident the lass will be ready ahead of their opening Group D encounter against one of the Tournament favourite USA in the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica.

Ghana will be involved in their sixth consecutive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup tournament.

The Princesses face a daunting task in Group D  of which includes United States, the Netherlands and Japan of the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica.

In Ghana’s quest to match up their opponents in Group, the Princesses lost a 4-0 in an International friendly against France last month.

The friendly encounter was a dress rehearsal for the team ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

On Ghana’s readiness in the opening match against the USA, Nora Hauptle talks to gfa.org about the team’s tactics and analysis ahead of the game.

” In all, we are satisfied and we have a good recovery and prepare for the first group match game which we have to be more precise and tactically discipline on how we want to play the USA, but we are in a good mood and it has been raining a lot but we take it as it is and stay focused” Nora confidently said.

”On analysis and other key areas ahead of opening match with this last game, we had corrections done in terms of game play and there are still little details we need to shape on, tactic wise”. We will have a video analysis session with the team and shift our focus to the USA game. We need to check our moving patterns, how we want to defend our buildup and so our focus has shifted from the last international friendly to our first group game against USA” she observed.

The Black Princesses will open their Group D campaign against the United States of America on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Estadio Alejandro Morera at 17:00 GMT.
