Evelyn Badu named Black Princesses skipper

Coach of Ghana’s Female U20 side, Ben Fokuo has has announced Evelyn Badu as the substantive skipper of the the Princesses ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 Tournament.

Evelyn Badu will be assisted by Anasthesia Achiaa and Cynthia Fiindib Konlan as 1 Deputy and 2 Deputy captains respectively.

Meanwhile, Mukarama Abdulai will serve as General Captain of the team.

Evelyn Badu is embracing her new role and is ready to work with her teammates to achieve remarkable success as a team.
“I am very glad and honoured to captain the team during the qualifying matches and to lead the team
in Costa Rica.” The CAF Young player of the year nominee told ghanafa.org

As part of preparations towards the Mundial, the Black Princesses will play giants France at Clairefontaine on Friday July 29, 2022.

Head Coach Ben Fokuo will use the two week tour to put final touches to the team’s preparations ahead of the tournament.

Ghana sealed a 5-1 victory on aggregate against Ethiopia to claim a sixth consecutive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup berth.

The Princesses join the likes of Nigeria as the two African representatives for the global youth tournament.

The 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be staged in Costa Rica from 10-28, August, 2022.

Ghana will face United States, the Netherlands and Japan in Group D of the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica.
