Ghana’s U20 Female Side newly appointed Technical Director Nora Haupltle is in high spirit as she expects the Princesses to go past the Group stages of the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica.
The former Swiss International who was appointed a couple of days ago is expected to bring on board her rich experience to help the Black Princesses succeed at the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup Costa Rica 2022.
Nora holds a UEFA Pro Licence certificate and has previously worked as an Instructor for the Swiss Football Association.
Ghana will be involved in their sixth consecutive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup tournament.
They will face United States, the Netherlands and Japan in Group D of the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica.
Despite Ghana facing a daunting task in the ‘Group of Death’ Häuptle believes the Princesses can cause an upset.
”The expectations are always high in soccer and I think I have the experience from Switzerland where I coached the U-19’s for five years, played two European Championships and so I know how tournaments work. It is the big goal with Ghana to survive the group stage, a tough group where we are paired with USA, Japan and the Netherlands, three of the best countries in Women’s football” She stated.
”It is a very difficult task we need to fulfill but we are full of passion to face them and hopefully work hard to pass the group stage” the ex FC Thun Coach added.
The Princesses join the likes of Nigeria as the two African representatives for the global youth tournament.
The 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be staged in Costa Rica from 10-28, August, 2022.
