Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has been found guilty by the GFA Disciplinary Committee for his involvement in a match fixing scandal between his former Club, Inter Allies and AshantiGold.

The former Inter Allies star has been banned from all football related activities for the next 30 months due to his involvement.

Inter Allies were beaten 7-0 in Matchday 34 of the Ghana Premier League clash with Asantigold at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium last season.

Inter Allies defender Hashmin Musah confessed to having scored two intentional own goals.

Musah is reported to have said that he netted the own goals on purpose to alter a results planned with a betting syndicate.

Consequently Ashanti Gold, released a statement stressing that they had no involvement in the alleged match-fixing scandal.

Officials of Inter Allies have also denied any wrongdoing.

In a ruling today by the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee, Officials and players of both Clubs who were found complicit, have been served with bans and fines.
