Black Satellites head Coach Abdul Karim Zito has blamed the weather condition for his charges’ failure to impress in their opening game of the WAFU B U20 Championship against the Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria condemned defending Champions, Ghana to 2-0 opening defeat thanks to a goal in each half at Stade Seyni Kountche in Niamey.
“There are factors that affect games and one of them is the weather, when you look at the atmosphere here (Niger) and you compare it to Ghana, this place is hell.” Zito said.
“We used the Nigeria game to prepare ourselves, we are going to use the next match to make amendments because we have now adapted to the weather.
“The players were very mobile in Ghana but they couldn’t run here, it is all due to the climate here” He added.
The Black Satellites need to raise their game against Burkina Faso in their next game if they are to have any chance of advancing to the next stage.
Ghana will play Burkina Faso in a dicey encounter on Saturday.
