The Flying Eagles of Nigeria condemned defending Champions, Ghana to 2-0 opening defeat at the WAFU B U20 Championship in Niger on Sunday.
Goals in each half was enough to settle the match as the Flying Eagles swept aside the Black Satellites at Stade Seyni Kountche in Niamey.
Ibrahim Muhammad and Ahmad Abdullahi goals were enough to pile pressure on Ghana’s U20 Male side who looked hopeless at the back of defence.
The win means Nigeria are top of the group and a draw in their game will seal their place in the knock-out stages of the tournament.
The Black Satellites meanwhile need to raise their game against Burkina Faso if they are to have any chance of advancing to the next stage.
Ghana will play Burkina Faso in a dicey encounter on Saturday.
