Black Princess, head Coach Ben Fokuo believes Ghana has what it takes to cause an upset in Group D of the 2022 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup billed for Costa Rica.
Ghana’s Female U20 team have been placed in the Group of death as they face tough opponents such as title holders Japan, the Netherlands and USA.
There will be 16 nations looking to compete for gold in the 10th edition of the global football fiesta, with plenty of ambitious teams that believe they can emulate the efforts of 2018 reigning champions Japan.
Speaking to GFA.org Coach Fokuo expressed his sides readiness to make an impact in the Mundial.
‘The draw was done based on performance and I think we will do well and hopefully, we will start
camping soon to put measures in place to help the players. This might be the first time we will qualify
from the group stage even though it is a tough group. I am confident we can make it past the group
stage’. he said.
The women’s youth competition kicks off on 10 August and the final is set for 28 August.
