Black Satellites head coach, Abdul Karim Zito has announced Ghana’s squad for the WAFU Zone B U20 Tournament.

The 2022 edition of the WAFU Zone B U20 Championship will kick off in the Nigerien capital of Niamey today, Saturday with the hosts seeking a surprise title success among the seven participating countries.

Defending champions, Ghana will tackle West African neighbours Nigeria in a crunch encounter in Niamey on Sunday.
The Flying Eagles are the record winners of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations having won it 7 times but they missed out in the last edition in Mauritania.

The Black Satellites came from behind to beat Burkina Faso 2-1 to win the 2020 Championship at the Stade Charles De Gaulles in Porto Novo, Benin.

The 2022 WAFU Zone B serves as qualification for the TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The next U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament will take place in Egypt from February 18, 2023 to March 12, 2022.

The top four teams will qualify to the FIFA U20 World Cup held in Indonesia later that year.
