The President, Nana Akufo Addo has appointed Opoku Ahweneeh Danquah Jnr as the CEO of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.
Mr Opoku Ahweneeh replaces Kofi Koduah Sarpong, who is due to step down this week as the chief executive officer of GNPC after serving in the role for five years.

Mr. Opoku Ahweneeh Danquah Jnr is a product of The Fletcher University (Turfs University), Middle College and Presbyterian Boys Secondary School.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Opoku Danquah Jnr worked with General Electric (GE), Houston, Texas, Director of Research, Houston, Texas, Wood Mackenzie, as Energy & Industry Senior Analyst Houston, Texas.
Danquah has over 18 years of experience in strategy across multiple businesses, with most of his focus in, but not limited to, oil and gas. He joined GNPC from Vallourec, where he managed the North American strategy, development and innovation team.
In 2016, Mr. Thomas Manu was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive for Exploration & Production while Kwame Ntow Amoah was also appointed as deputy CEO for Commercial and Corporate Services .
