Black Stars arrive in Garoua

Black stars Head coach, Otto Addo has revealed that players selected in Ghana’s crucial 2022 World Cup playoffs against the Super Eagles of Nigeria are committed to the assignment.

Ghana will need to wrestle past West African rival, Nigeria for a spot in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World at Kumasi Sports stadium on Friday.

The Senior National team would be aiming to appease their fans by earning a fourth World Cup appearance after a disappointing elimination from the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

“We’re only a few days away from playing our crucial match against our rivals Nigeria. We all expect Ghana to qualify for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, but that won’t be easy as we need to do our best to make it to this tournament. The players, technical team and the Ghana Football Association are committed to this task. We really want to make ourselves and the nation proud by qualifying for this upcoming World Cup,” the Borussia Dortmund assistant coach said.

Ghana have qualified for three FIFA World Cup tournaments; 2006, 2010, and 2014.

Whereas, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be hoping to qualify for the global football showpiece for the seventh time and, since 1994, have missed only one of seven editions.

The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 1st leg of the play off at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, while the 2nd leg is scheduled for the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

The Winner of the two legs will progress to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.
