Gabriel Opoku appointed to officiate Hearts, Kotoko Independence match

The Referees Appointment Committee of the Ghana Football Association has appointed Gabriel Opoku Arhin as the centre referee for the Independence Commemorative match between Accra Hearts of Oak and rivals Asante Kotoko on Friday, March 4, 2022.

He will be assisted by Ali Timuah Baah (Assistant I) and Freeman Awuloo (Assistant II) while Philip Arthur Forson serves as the Fourth official with Moses Abaidoo Mensah acting as the Match Commissioner.

The match is scheduled for 6pm kick off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday,

The two Ghanaian giants will both pocket GH¢50,000 each as appearance fee for this year’s President’s Cup match.

According to Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), the two teams would share GH¢100,000 and 25 percent each of the total gate proceeds.

The Phobians are six times winners of the President’s Cup whilst archrivals the Porcupine Warriors are seeking to claim their ninth President’s Cup.
