The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, wants Ghanaians to ignore some media reports claiming that he is sick and bedridden.
MP for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa, recently mentioned Henry Quartey as one of the MPs who’s also guilty of absenteeism when the discussion about Adwoa Safo’s absence in the house came up.
Due to this, there had been suggestions that Henry Quartey was seriously ill and bedridden.
But the Ayawaso Central MP insists he has never been unwell in recent times.
Mr. Quartey said such reports are untrue and should be ignored.
“It is rather unfortunate that people will choose to do this kind of needless propaganda by spreading falsehood that my good self was seriously ill and had been rushed to the hospital.”
“I want to put it out there that I am fit, I have been working and by the grace of God I will stay this way.”
Moves taken since assuming office
Henry Quartey since assuming office under his ‘‘Let’s Make Accra Work’ campaign, has undertaken several initiatives to provide lasting solutions to everyday challenges in the region, with the view to transform the national capital.
He has supervised the removal of unauthorized traders along some major streets, the pulling down of unauthorized structures, and carried out decongestion exercises and other sanitation drives aimed at ridding the capital of fifth.
Although these initiatives have won him the admiration of some Ghanaians, the Minister believes the totality of these efforts should not be viewed as political vindictiveness.
