The Ghana Football Association believes the four man team that has been put together to take charge of Black Stars’two-legged World Cup play-off against rivals Nigeria has what it takes to wrestle past their West African neighbours to book a ticket for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana will on March 24, face West African rival, Nigeria for a spot in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World at ibestgstiomCup at the Cape Coast stadium on March 24 before travelling to Nigeria for the 2nd leg at the Abuja Sports stadium on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

The Senior National team would be aiming to appease their fans by earning a fourth World Cup appearance after a disappointing elimination from the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon. Ghana have qualified for three FIFA World Cup tournaments; 2006, 2010, and 2014.

Whereas, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will be hoping to qualify for the global football showpiece for the seventh time and, since 1994, have missed only one of seven editions.

“We believe that the expertise of these four people and their quality is what would guarantee us a place in Qatar,” Henry Asante Twum, the GFA’s Director of Communications, told Citi Sports.

“They all come in with different backgrounds and collectively we think they have the quality and competence to move us to the next stage.” He added.

The newly constituted Black Stars Technical team led by Otto Addo. Other members of the new Technical team include Chris Hughton, George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
