Milovan

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has officially announced the dismissal of Black stars coach, Milovan Rajevac.

Milo’s exit follows the FA’s receipt of the Technical Report from the Coach, the Medical Report and the Report from the Management Committee following Ghana’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 tournament.

The Executive Council after considering the three reports and engagements with key stakeholders has decided to end its relationship with Coach Milovan Rajevac and also decided that the Black Stars Management Committee be reconstituted.

The Serbian tactician was at the helm of affairs when Ghana were dumped out of the 2021 AFCON Competition.

The Comoros beat Ghana 3-2 in the third and final day of Group C.

Ghana earned only a point from their three group stage games, finishing bottom of Group C.

Subsequently, the Ministry of Youth and Sports summoned the GFA leadership to an emergency meeting following the Black stars’ early exit in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021).

The Ministry therefore, asked the GFA to review the work and capacity of the Black Stars technical team led by the head coach Milovan Rajevac.”

The GFA says it will soon announce the reconstituted Technical Team and Management Committee after due engagement with all relevant stakeholders.

Ghana’s next assignment is a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 playoff against Nigeria in March 2022.

The Black stars would be aiming to appease their fans by earning a fourth World Cup appearance after a disappointing elimination from the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon. Ghana have qualified for three FIFA World Cup tournaments; 2006, 2010, and 2014.
