Hearts Olympics

Ghana’s only sole representative in the CAF Confederation Cup play-offs Competition, Accra Hearts of Oak left Ghana on Wednesday, for their clash against North African counterparts, AS Saoura.

The Phobians defeated JS Saoura 2-0 in the first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

The win puts them in pole position for the group stage. However, Coach Samuel Boadu’s lads must pass a stern test in Algeria.

The Rainbow club has a second chance to make an impact in Africa this season, after their 6-2 aggregate elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca.

With their last visit to North Africa ending in a humiliating 6-1 loss, the Accra-based side will be fully aware of the difficulty of the task ahead in the upcoming second leg.
