The President Nana Akufo Addo on Thursday extended the contract of the Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah for two more years.
A memo from the authority sighted by Cedidollar.com indicates that Prof Attafuah’s contract takes effect from November 11, 2021.
“The President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has extended the contract of the Executive Secretary [of the NIA], Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, by two years, effective 11th November 2021.”
“On behalf of Management and members of staff of NIA, I wish to warmly congratulate Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah on his reappointment and assure him of the support of all staff in the performance of his duties. We wish him the best,” the memo signed by the Head, Administration/Human Resource at the NIA, Ms. Cecilia Erzuah, read.
About Prof Attafuah
Prof Attafuah is a licensed Ghanaian criminologist, mediator, management consultant, and human rights advocate.
He is a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party of Ghana.
Since January 2017, he has served as the Head of the National Identification Authority following his appointment by President Akufo-Addo.
He was the first Executive Secretary of the NIA under President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration.
Attafuah has held several positions during the course of his working life.

- Chief Investigator and Director of Operation at CHRAJ
- Crime Prevention Policy Advisor/Analyst, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, West Vancouver Detachment, Canada
