AGI calls for inclusion of local products in e-commerce platforms

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has called on foreign direct marketing and e-commerce companies operating in the country, to consider adding locally manufactured products onto their platforms for sale.

This would grow and expand Ghanaian manufacturing businesses and create jobs for the youth.

Mr Samuel Anim-Yeboah, Chairman of the Technology Sector of AGI, who made the call said most Ghanaian local products were of international standards and of high quality, which could compete favourably for acceptability by people on e-commerce platforms, everywhere in the world.

Mr Anim-Yeboah, made the call at an “Absolute Living Expo” organised by QNET, a global e-commerce company in Kumasi.

The Expo was to spread the entrepreneurial opportunities offered by QNET on its e-commerce platforms and the products and services available for direct sales to improve the lives of the people.

Mr Anim-Yeboah said direct marketing and e-commerce offered enormous opportunities to reach many people in different locations with varied products and services at the same time.

He praised QNET for impacting positively on many people across the Sub-Saharan Africa, adding that, the use of technology as an enabler and a good pointer in its business module that, a lot of people could have opportunities.

Mr Biram Fall, Sub-Saharan Regional General Manager of QNET, said the company’s range of products and services were designed with high quality, to help customers live a well-balanced life.

He said the ultimate goal of QNET, was to provide opportunities for absolute living for everyone, whether they were buying the products for personal use or starting an entrepreneurial journey through its business module.

Mr Mamadu Osman, Ashanti Regional Manager of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, pledged the support of the Ministry to ensure that the company operated effectively to create opportunities for the youth.
