Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies secured a semifinal berth in the women’s Champions League after a pulsating 2-2 encounter with Degla.

Degla started the game strongly and scored first goal by Jasmin Theresa. Hasaacas restored parity thanks to a Faustina Nyame goal. Noha Mamdouh then scored her second goal in the tournament from a free kick to end the first half 2-1.

After the break, Hasaacas tied the game with a goal by Veronica Appiah to end Degla’s hopes of qualifying for the semifinal.

The Secondi based Women’s team is on course to lift the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League trophy following their impressive showing in the maiden CAF Champions League Competition.

Head coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Yussif Basigi, was satisfied with his side’s composure and tactics shown on the pitch as they knocked out the Egyptians from the tournament.

“I anticipated that we would encounter a very difficult match. I remember their coach told me that this was going to be a very good game, which meant that they have studied us. I respect the Egyptian team because they played a very tactical game, but my players had the experience and determination required to qualify”.

“We did not start well in the first half. In the second half we tried to get hold of the ball and play. No matter how the opponent will have against my team, I always have a plan B”.

“I want to meet any of the teams of Group B. I’m ready for any of them, and I studied all of them” Yussif Basigi said.

The team is currently the most successful club in Ghana and won an unprecedented double; Women’s Premier League and FA Cup in 2021 before traveling to Ivory Coast to win the first ever West Africa Football Union Zone B Women’s Club Championship.
