Ghana Premier League Giants, Accra Hearts of Oak will battle for the 16 spots available in the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup competition as they were pitted against Jeunesse Sportive (JS) De La Saoura of Algeria.

The draw was conducted at the Caf headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday afternoon.

The Phobians dropped to CAF’s second tier inter-club competition following a mulling in the hands of Moroccan side, Wydad Club Athletic in Casablanca.

Last season’s CAF Champions League semi-finalists ran riot at home, hitting the Phobians 6-1 to comfortably sail into the group stages with a 6-2 aggregate.

The play-off round first-leg matches for the Confederations Cup are scheduled for November 28, while the second-leg games will take place on December 5.

The 16 winners on aggregate will progress to the group stage.
