Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal will today, Friday appear in court following his arrest by the Police.

Medikal’s arrest comes after a video of him brandishing a gun went viral on social media.

The AMG signee was moved from the Accra Regional Police Headquarters to an undisclosed police station, where he was detained.

Medikal’s court appearance comes a day after dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, and four others including a pastor were remanded into police custody for an alleged gun attack that turned out to be a hoax.

They were remanded by an Accra Circuit Court custody for a week on Thursday, October 21, 2021, during their first appearance in court.

The Melisa hitmaker was arrested by the Police for faking reports that he has been shot by some unknown gunmen on Monday, October 18, 2021.

The police subsequently released a statement indicating that, its team went to Shatta’s house and a number of health facilities but could not find him.

Prior to his arrest, Shatta Wale took to social media to apologize to his fans and other people who had been affected by what he described as a prank.

He said he took the phones of the team members and made the fake post.

He made reference to a prophecy that was made by the founder and leader of New Life Kingdom Chapel International, Stephen Akwasi, that he would be shot dead on 18 October 2021.

Subsequently, the Police arrested acclaimed Bishop Stephen Akwasi, popularly known as ‘Jesus Ahuofe’ who prophesied the murder of Shatta at the premises of Accra FM while preparing for an interview on the station’s mid-morning show.

‘Jesus Ahuofe’ prophesied the murder of Shatta Wale on Monday, October 18, 2021, by armed robbers.

The Prophet claimed “a big calamity will befall Ghana, Ghanaians should pray for our musicians, especially dancehall music performers. I saw in my vision that one had lost his life”.

He mentioned the first name of Shatta Wale and warned that he should seek the face of God otherwise he can’t escape his untimely death.
