Black stars deputy skipper, Thomas Teye Partey has revealed that he is contented with Ghana’s 3-1 win against the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Cape Coast stadium on Saturday.

The Gunners midfielder, who made his 33rd national team appearance on Saturday scored Ghana’s second goal in the 66th minute to take his International goal tally to 12 since his debut in 2016.

Addressing the media in a post match interview, the 27-year-old expressed his joy over the crucial win against Zimbabwe.

”I feel good, especially because we were able to win the game. The most important thing is to get the results after a hard day and so we are happy,” Partey said.

Ghana managed to beat Zimbabwe 3-1 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday to remain on the neck of South Africa in Group G of the qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The victory at home for the Black Stars takes them to six points, one behind leaders South Africa who had earlier beaten Ethiopia 3-1 in the other group fixture in Bahir Dar.

Speaking ahead of reverse fixture against the Warriors in Harare, Partey indicated that the Black Stars squad is focused on winning the three maximum points on Tuesday.

”I think the last South Africa game, unluckily most of the players weren’t able to go and we lost. But today we did our best but we have to enjoy today and think about Tuesday,” he added

The Black Stars will hope to continue their winning run when they take on the Warriors in the reverse fixture on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in Harare.
