Ghana Premier League champions, Accra Hearts of Oak has stated that their new player Gladson Awako missed the the match against CI Kamsar because of personal difficulties and has been excused from the team.
The former Great Olympics playmaker has been reported to have left the Rainbow club just weeks after joining the club.
“Our recent signing, Gladson Awako has experienced some personal difficulties that have prevented him from playing football and starting for Hearts of Oak so far.
“The club expects him to sort out those difficulties soon so that he can rejoin his colleagues and resume playing football,” a statement by the club read.
The communique from the Phobians camp comes after Awako’s agent Yusif Chibsah said the midfielder may part ways with Hearts of Oak less than a month after agreeing a two-year deal.
“Hearts of Oak gave Awako permission to hold personal training. We won’t address issues in public. It has nothing to do with financial obligations. Hearts paid everything to the player.
“It’s likely he may play or may not play for Hearts but we have to meet the club to discuss his future,” Yusif Chibsah told Asempa FM.
The 30-year-old scored six goals and provided seven assists for Great Olympics in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
