Akufo-Addo to embark on an official visit to Germany

Akufo-Addo leave Ghana

President Nana Akufo Addo will Sunday 22 August 2021 leave the shores of Ghana to visit Germany at the invitation of the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.

Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin made this known during his address to the Presidential Press Corps at the maiden edition of the newly instituted Jubilee House press briefing.

Mr. Arhin added that the President is expected to use his multiple engagements to help strengthen and deepen Ghana’s relations with Germany with the aim of boosting economic ties of the two countries during his visit.

The President is also scheduled to deliver a speech at the 75th anniversary celebration of the formation of the North Rhine–Westphalia state which is Germany’s most popular state and the number one industrial region.

As part of his visit, Akufo-Addo is expected to meet manufacturers of the Pfizer vaccines with the aim of securing substantial doses for Ghana to improve Ghana’s vaccination drive.

Before participating in the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA), an initiative under the German G20 Presidency to promote private investment in Africa, including in infrastructure, the President will meet with the German investment community to promote the country’s investment opportunities and climate. President Akufo-Addo is scheduled to return to Ghana on the 28th of August 2021.
