Accra Hearts of Oak edged over Ashanti Gold 8-7 on penalties in the final of the FA cup to win their 11th FA Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Following a stalemate After 120 minutes the game headed into a shoot-out where the Rainbow club emerged victorious.
It was Kofi Mensah’s miss in what was a dramatic marathon shoot-out which handed the trophy to the Phobians.
Hearts as a result have completed a double in the 2020-21 season weeks after claiming the Ghana Premier League title.
Also this season was the seventh time Hearts of Oak have completed the double after their successes in 1973,1979, 1990, 1996, 1999 and 2000.
Coach Samuel Boadu’ side is the most successful club in the history of the FA competition, winning it 11 times.
Hearts will represent Ghana in next year’s CAF champions League.
