Azamati poised to make amends in next race despite missing out in 100m

Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati after having missed out on qualification to the semi-finals of the men’s 100m race at the Tokyo Olympics says he remains focused on his challenge.

The 23-year-old national record holder clocked 10.13s and finished 4th in the race which was won by Rohan Browning of Australia with Yohan Blake of Jamaica finishing 2nd.

According to Azamati In a post-race interview, he is fully focused on his next race which is the 4x100m Relay scheduled Thursday, August 5, 2021.

“Sorry Nation! I couldn’t turn up. Things will get better next time. Realized my mistakes and I would take it from there.

“Happy for the support from y’all! I feel loved and mentally I am there. I will keep my head up and focus on the next race,” he posted on Twitter.
