Coach of Ghana Premier League side Eleven Wonders, Ignatius Osei-Fosu wants the GFA to punish the cameraman who leaked footage of alleged fixed match on the final matchday of the Ghana Premier League between Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies.

The just ended GPL league has been caught up in controversy after viral social media videos showed what has been described as “deliberate loose goals” in some matches, particularly in the tie between Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies in the final day of the season.

An Inter Allies defender Hashim Musah in his interview to Kumasi-based, Kumasi FM admitted that he deliberately scored two own goals in his side’s 7-0 defeat to Ashanti Gold because of what he had allegedly uncovered before the match.

His comments have attracted some criticism but speaking to a Kumasi based, Luv FM, the assistant National U17 team coach expressed his displeasure against the FA camera man:

“Look, there are some news that we have to protect. For me, if I was a GFA member, that cameraman at Obuasi [whose footage was leaked to the public] would be sacked today,”

“The video is for the GFA so whoever wants the video will have to go to the GFA to apply for it. Never think that the English Premier League that we watch, everything that happens on the pitch they give to us, no.

“There are policies in using such footage or materials. So, things that will put their product into disrepute they don’t have to show it because you have to protect the integrity of the product”  Osei-Fosu stated.

Consequently, the two teams involved stressed they had no involvement in the alleged match-rigging agreement.

As a result, the GFA has officially informed the Ghana Police Service about the alleged match fixing and betting scandal.

Also AshantiGold SC duo Seth Osei and Samed Mohammed and four others were invited to to face the GFA Investigation Team on Thursday to ascertain any violations of the relevant provisions of the GFA Code of Ethics, 2019, the Premier League Regulations, 2019 and the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019 in reference to the Match-day 34 tie.
