Samuel-Boadu

Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu has blamed complacency on the part of his players in the Phobians stalemate with Ebusua Dwarfs in the Ghana Premier League.

Boadu believes the Rainbow club underrated the Crabs as Hearts spurned a chance to put themselves one point closer to the GPL title after settling for a 1-1 draw in the matchday 32 fixture in Cape Coast.

Dwarfs drew first blood from skipper, Nkrumah Korsah in the 85th minute. But the Phobians equalized through an injury time volley by striker Kwadwo Obeng Jnr after a long pass from Fatawu Mohammed.

In a post match interview Boadu expressed his disappointment with how the players approached the game.

“As you know the relegation team and the team which wants to take the league [playing each other] is highly competitive,” he said

“It’s quite unfortunate we conceded a goal before we came back. We are not done yet, we are still on course, we wanted to win this match so that we can widen the gap, I’m not happy at all.

“They [Hearts players] were a little bit down, they thought that Dwarfs was a weak side so they could beat them [easily], so they relaxed.

“But we don’t go like that, we should go all out so that we can win the subsequent matches because we need to take the league title.”

By this results, Only three points separate Hearts and their archrivals Kotoko with two more rounds of matches to go.

Hearts face Liberty at the Accra Sports stadium next matchday and will seal the title with a win, their first since 2009.
