Prices at the various fuel stations have gone up again, a month after astronomical increase were announced by the National Petroleum Authority.
The increases generated some uproar in May which forced the NPA to reduce the margins on the taxes imposed on the commodity.
But petrol and diesel prices went up on Saturday, June 19.
They increased from 6.050 per litre to 6.230 per litre across major oil marketing companies (OMCs).\
This is likely to increase the cost of goods and services in the country even though inflation appears to be relatively lower.
Prices of fuel are mostly determined by the cost of fuel on the international market, stability of the cedi and taxes. Even though the cedi has been a little stable over the past few months, prices on the international market have inched higher and so have taxes.
