Ghana coach CK Akonnor draws positive from Tuesday’s friendly defeat to the Atlas Lions in Rabat.
A howler from Razak Abolora, led to Morocco’s goal in a 1-0 friendly defeat on Tuesday at the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat.
Jawad El Yamiq’s 69th-minute goal separated both teams as Charles Akonnor’s men lost their first game in three matches.
Despite the result, Akonnor says he was contented with the attitude and desire the players put up during the game.
“We didn’t look bad at all, it was important for me to see how disciplined we could play, the team spirit, the work ethic, we showed great understanding of how to play”
“Obviously, we played against an opponent who have been very good in previous matches and have not lost a match. We made it very difficult for them.
“If you look at the way we played, the only negative is that we lost, so there were a lot of positives.
“There are a few guys yet to join us, if we keep working like this, things will go well for us hopefully.”
The game was a test match for the two sides ahead of commencement of the second round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in September.
The Black Stars return to action on Saturday when they host Cote d’Ivoire in a second friendly in Cape Coast.
