English Championship side, Swansea City, confirmed the departure of Andre Ayew after his contract expired at the end of the domestic season.

The Ghanaian forward finished the campaign as Swansea’s top scorer having netted 17 Championship goals.

The 31-year-old has scored 35 goals in 106 appearances since rejoining Swansea from West Ham for an initial £18m in January 2018 over two spells.

Ayew first joined Swansea in 2015, and was an instant hit in his first season, earning a big money move to West Ham United in the following campaign.

Swansea took to their official Twitter page to show appreciation for their star man and bid him a befitting farewell.

Swansea failed to secure a promotion to the English Premier League after Andre Ayew was unable to produce the moment of magic Swansea City required as they were beaten by Brentford in the Championship play-off final.

The Black stars skipper is expected to team up with the Black Stars who are preparing in Cape Coast for two friendly games against Morocco and Ivory Coast..
