Accra Hearts of Oak secured a vital 1-0 away win over the Hunters in Match week 24 of the Ghana premier league courtesy a Salifu Ibrahim goal.
The Hunters started the game on a blistering pace and created few openings but failed to make good use of their early dominance.
Hearts grew in confidence and started matching the home team on all front and began to also impose themselves on the home team with some good combination of football in the final third of the field.
The first half ended goalless.
After recess, the hosts upped their game and were the better side for the first 15 minutes of the second half but missed their chances as they did in the opening 45 minutes.
Twelve minutes to full time, Salifu Ibrahim scored a beautiful goal with his weaker right foot after weaving through the defense of the home team to end Bechem United’s home invincibility this season.
Ibrahim was adjusted man of the match for the second time in a row in the Rainbow shirt and that’s his seventh award in the entire season.
The win sends the Phobians just a point behind arch-rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko who sits top of the Ghana Premier League with a game in hand.
