Football world governing body, FIFA, has in conjunction with CAF and taking into consideration the current disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to ensure optimal playing conditions for all teams, has postponed the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar to September 2021.
The African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was scheduled to to be played in June 2021.
According to FIFA, The qualifiers are now scheduled to take place in the existing windows of September, October and November 2021, and March 2022.
Ghana will face off against South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia in the third round of the qualifiers for the 2022 Fifa World Cup to be held in Qatar.
The 10 group winners will face off in play-off home and away fixtures in November next year to decide Africa’s five representatives for the final tournament in Qatar.
