Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold SC, have confirmed the departure of Head Coach Romain Folz from the Obuasi club.

Ashgold appointed the French tactician in March 2021 following the exit of Milovan Cirkovic who left the club on health issues.

Early this week, reports emerged that the 30-year old French Coach had left his post without stated reasons.

The Obuasi based club have now released a statement confirming that Folz, along with the goalkeepers’ coach, Alejandro Manu Rodriguez, have requested for a mutual termination of their contract with the club.

“Head Coach Romain Folz and Goalkeepers Coach Alejandro Manu Rodriguez have officially requested for a mutual termination of their contract agreements with the club.

“Management would explore all available options in relation to their contractual situations and decide on the next line of action,” a club statement from Ashanti Gold SC said.

Assistant coach of Ashantigold, Thomas Duah, will take charge of coaching duties at the club until the end of the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
