Akufo-Addo expected to release deputy ministers-designate today

President Akufo-Addo according to reports will release the list of deputy ministerial nominees to complete the formation of his second-term ministerial appointments.

The presidency is set to release the list of the nominees that may not exceed 40 deputies.

Indications had earlier been given by the Presidency that ministerial appointees will not go beyond 86 with 46 substantive ministers and regional ministers already appointed.

Akufo-Addo will consult with all his substantive ministers on appointment of their deputies as required by Article 79 (1) of the 1992 constitution, which states: “The President may, in consultation with a Minister of State, and with prior approval of Parliament, appoint one or more Deputy Minsters to assist the Minister in the performance of his functions.”

The appointments committee of Parliament will be required to vet Akufo Addo’s proposed list of deputy ministers before they are sworn into office.

4. Lawyer Alfred Tuah-Yeboah- Deputy Attorney General & Minister for Justice

5. Mavis Nkansah Boadu – Dep. Roads

6. Mireku Duker – Dep. Lands

7. Michael Okyere Baafi – Dep. Trade

8. Herbert Krapah – Dep. Trade

9. Nana Dokuaa – Dep. Trade

10. Amin Anta – Dep. Energy
