NABCo recruits at Customs must be disciplined

By : Kofi Kafui Sampson on 19 Feb 2019, 05:13

Recruits of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) posted to the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) have been challenged to exhibit discipline on their assigned jobs.
Mr Isaac Crentsil, Commissioner of the Customs Division of the GRA, who offered the challenge in Tema, said the recruits must showcase the discipline instilled in them after weeks of training.

The 300 recruits made up of 125 females and 175 males were taken through an intensive four week para military training to equip them for the Customs work.

Mr Crenstsil added that, “Customs work is very difficult in that the general public will be watching you, therefore you must show discipline in whatever you do on the job so that you do not defeat the purpose of NABCo”.

He reminded them that they were posted to the Division to fill the human resource gap therefore urging them to see themselves as part of Customs “hence do your best for us to achieve our revenue target.”

He added that the recruits were not to put on the Customs uniform for the fun of it but rather to ensure that the Division collected maximum revenue for the development of the country.

The Commissioner announced that each recruit would be given a portion of the GHs 17 billion target and that their achievements would be measured monthly.

He encouraged them to show respect to all Custom stakeholders saying they must allow the rule of law to work instead of insisting on having their way.
