Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Bechem United 4-0 in an outstanding Ghana Premier League game played at the Len Clay Stadium Wednesday.

It was an impressive performance by the Porcupine Warriors with Brazilian duo Fabio Gama and Michael Vinicius all registering their names on the scoresheet.

Gama was the first of the Brazilian pair to score in the match. He volleyed home from close range to make it two goals in two appearances under new coach Mariano Barreto.

Francis Andy Kumi made it 3-0 on the hour mark before Gama’s Brazilian counterpart Vinicius scored on his debut after coming on in the dying minutes of the game.

It was new Coach Mariano Barreto’s first game in charge and it was a superior performance from start to finish. It took just six minutes for defender Ismail Ganiyu to give Kotoko the lead in the 13th minute after a delightful assist from Fabio Gama.

Two minutes to halftime, Gama doubled the lead. Augustine Okrah picked up an unmarked Gama inside the box and the Brazilian powered the ball past the goalkeeper with his right foot. He dedicated the goal to his pregnant wife.
The third goal arrived in the 63rd minute courtesy youngster Francis Andy Kumi, who was making his first start for Kotoko since he joined them from Unistar Academy last month.

Vinicius got on the scoresheet on the 83rd minute. He was at the right place to convert into an empty net after Okrah’s rebound hit the post.

Kotoko’s win move them, above rivals Hearts of Oak on the Ghana Premier League table as the Porcupine warriors occupy third on the League table, just two points behind leaders Accra Great Olympics.
