Parliament has endorsed Akufo-Addo’s list of regional ministers-designate for his second term in office.

The 16 nominees were recommended for approval by consensus in the third report of the Appointments Committee.

Prior to the approval of the 16 nominees, some of the Minority caucus in Parliament drew the Speaker’s attention to the fact that the they had not received copies of the Appointments Committee’s report.

The Minority had earlier expressed dissatisfaction over the answers by some of the nominees including- Peter Amewu, Godfred Yeboah Dame, Kwasi Amoako Atta, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful and Kwaku Agyeman Manu during vetting.

However, the committee cleared all five nominees and subsequently approved them at the plenary.

One more nominee, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta, a minister designate for Finance is yet to be vetted by the Appointments Committee due to his travel outside of Ghana for medical review in the United States of America.
