Former President, Jerry John Rawlings’ burial service has been scheduled to come off from January 24 to 27 after an earlier postponement.
There will also be a funeral mass on January 26, from 9 am to 11 am at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra.
Mr. Rawlings’ Laying-In-State will be from 24th to 26th January 2021 at the Foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.
Details of funeral arrangements are contained in a communique issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry to the international community and diplomatic missions.
Rawlings died at the age of 73 on Nov. 12. 2020. He spent nearly a week at a hospital in the capital Accra.
The former president fell sick after the burial of his mother last month.
He led a military junta from 1981 to 1992 after coming to power through a coup.
In 1992, Rawlings resigned from the military and established the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He was democratically elected in the same year and then in 1996 for a second term.
