The New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Madina Constituency, Boniface Abu-Bakar Saddique has lost his seat to the National Democratic Congress’ Francis Sosu Xavier with a 15,342 vote difference.
Out of the110,403 total votes cast, Francis Xavier secured 62,127 votes, defeating Boniface Saddique who had 46,785.
The Ghana Union Movement’s Prince Joseph-Oppong Boadi polled 692 votes.
599 votes were rejected.
Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface was a Minister of State at the Office of the Vice President and a former Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development.
He is also the former Member of Parliament for the Salaga Constituency.
He had prior to the election, said he would not underestimate his main opponent, Francis Xavier who raised concerns about his contribution to the constituency.
