NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Asawase Constituency, Muntaka Mubarak, has caused some controversy after he made his daughter vote on his behalf.
The incumbent MP had gone to the polling station to vote but surprised everyone when he held his six-year-old daughter’s thumb to vote for him.
Speaking to Pure FM in Kumasi, he stated that “you know my princess does not have the knowledge to understand the process so I held her hand, dip it into the ink and helped her to vote for me on my behalf but I voted myself in the presidential ballot.”
According to Mr Mubarik, he is only showing his young daughter how the voting process works.
“She doesn’t even understand what’s going on. I raised her thumb and did the thumb-printing; it was virtually me doing it. If I had given it to her, she would not have even known what to do,” he added.
His action has, however, generated a conversation on whether he was wrong to have done that or not.
Muntaka should be disqualify and nullify all votes casted… And declare his opponent winner for him to learn sense

What he did was a socio-moral crime. But what of those who aide the aged/disabled to vote? Is that secret balloting? Maybe both actions offend secret balloting but Muntaka’s own is socio-moral mistake but not political incorrectness.

I just saw the video when his family showed their 2 fingers to the camera and the little girl displayed the evidence. I will never vote Npp again in my life if muntaka and his child doesn’t face the law

Hon. Muntaka allowing your 6years old child to cast your vote for you isn’t funny at all is very irresponsible on your part. And the unprofessional EC officials also allowed that to happened.
Still #VoteNumber1 #Number1OnTheBallot #4MoreForNana

There’s a reason why minors aren’t allowed to vote. What Muntaka do be unconstitutional.

No matter what Hon. Muntaka says, her daughter has no business getting that very close to the polling center. #ElectionDay
