Two staff of The Multimedia Group Limited have received the UN Kofi Annan Excellence Awards.

Joy Sports Editor, Nathaniel Attoh and Head of Music Programs Kwadwo Ampofo aka DJ Black were given the award in recognition of their sterling contributions to the media industry over the years.

The ceremony took place on Friday, August 28, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

Mr Attoh was awarded for his marvellous exploits in the field of sports, while the host of ‘Weekend Warmer’ on Joy 99.7FM, DJ Black received a prize for his stupendous contributions to the entertainment industry.

Mr Attoh said the recognition would propel him to continue to impact the lives of many people.

“I am greatly humbled by this big recognition, and I see this as a message that says there is more we can do in terms of leading discussions and putting out content that changes the status quo in sectors within which we operate.

It tells us not to downplay the effect of what we do on those who are at the receiving end” he said.

Other recipients of similar awards include musicians, Sarkodie and Daughters of Glorious Jesus.

The 2020 Global Leadership Service to Humanity Awards is in honour of the late UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, to recognise media achievements on nation-building, excellence, the global score for inter-country governance and sustainable leadership.
